After two days of relentless rain and howling winds, the British open golf leaderboard could not be closer.

I must say I have to admire the guys for battling their way through the last couple of days, and it's made for great viewing.

The persistent rain & wind, the challenge of a links course, the tradition of the Open & the history of the event have all added to watching the world's best golfers being pushed to the brink by great British weather.

Throw into the mix the emergence of veteran Australian Greg 'The Great White Shark' Norman near the top of the leaderboard, it adds another twist to the final two rounds at Royal Birkdale, and with defending Open champion Pádraig Harrington and last weeks Scottish Open winner Graeme McDowell well in contention, I look forward to 'more of the same' from the Irish lads.
